Llano Police Chief Michael Scoggins reported that officers were dispatched to Arrowhead Bank drive thru, located at 204 W. Young St., concerning a suspect attempting to pass a forged check.
Upon their arrival, officers observed an individual had walked up to the drive thru of the bank and was attempting to cash a forged check. This individual was not in a vehicle, but matched the suspect’s description.
Scoggins said prior to this call for service, officers had been notified by the bank, on the day prior an individual had passed forged checks totaling over $20,000 and could be back today attempting to pass more forged checks. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect without any other incidents but in possession of a forged check. This suspect was identified as the same individual who passed the forged check the day before at another location.
This is still an active investigation and any other information will be released at a later date.
