CITY OF LLANO

REQUEST AND CALL FOR PROJECTS

HOTEL/MOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUNDING

By the law of the State of Texas and per Chapter 351 of the Texas Tax Code, hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts, and inns in Llano collect a Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT).    The City of Llano is now accepting applications from organizations whose programs fit into the designated categories.   All requests for funds should be submitted in writing accompanied by an official application obtained from the City of Llano City Secretary.  Priority will be given to those events and entities based on their ability to generate overnight visitors to Llano.  If an event will not generate any meaningful hotel night activity, it is not eligible for receipt of hotel occupancy tax funds.

As of January 2011, the Application requires a link on the event or facility website to llanolodging.com, the inclusion of  www.llanolodging.com on any print advertising; submission of all eligible invoices to the City Secretary’s Office within 60 days of the conclusion of the event at 301 West Main Street, Llano, Texas 78643 or by email at citysecretary@cityofllano.com.

The City will be providing a Hotel Occupancy Tax Use Guideline, Funding Application Form, and Post Event Report.  Please complete the funding application form and return it to City Secretary Kim Wagner, 301 W. Main, Llano, TX  78643 or by email at citysecretary@cityofllano.com, no later than January 12, 2024.  At 5:30 p.m. January 17, 2024, applicants will be required to make a presentation (ten minutes maximum) regarding your event before the Hotel Motel Funds Allocation Committee in the City Council Chambers here at City Hall.  The Hotel Occupancy Tax Use Guideline, Funding Application Form, and the Post Event Report can be found on the City’s website at www.cityofllano.com
