Legal Advice & Procedural Questions
Judge Jim Dear and his staff cannot give legal advice, nor do they have the authority to dismiss a citation. The Judge cannot discuss the merits of a pending judicial proceeding prior to trial, Cannon 3(5), Code of Judicial Conduct, if a plea of not guilty is entered. This means the Judge cannot discuss your citation with you, unless you have first entered a plea of guilty or no contest.Staff is available to discuss procedural questions only.

The Llano Municipal Court is located on the 1st floor of City Hall, 301 West Main St. Llano, TX 78643
The Llano Municipal Court Clerk is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Initial Appearance Docket is on Tuesday from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Pre Trial Docket is on 3rd Monday morning of each month, unless otherwise reset
Trial Docket is on the 3rd Friday morning of each month, unless otherwise reset
Court staff is committed to informing citizens of their options for the administrative processing of cases; however, staff is unable to offer legal advice.
The Llano Municipal Court is located on the 1st floor of City Hall next to the Utility Office. Parking is available along the front of City Hall down the length of the building.
From South State Hwy 71 to Llano: Turn right onto State Hwy 16 and proceed downtown. With the County Courthouse on your left and before the Llano bridge, take a left on to West Main Street. Proceed two blocks and City Hall will be in the third block on your right.
From East State Hwy 29 to Llano. Turn left at the only stoplight on Hwy 29 at Bessemer Avenue. After you cross the Llano bridge, the street name will change to Ford. Turn right at the first stoplight on Ford at Main. The Courthouse will be on your left when you turn on to West Main. Proceed two blocks and City Hall will be in the third block on your right.
