The emergency notification system or ENS is a tool available to the City of Llano through the CAPCOG ENS Service. The system has access to 69 outgoing telephone lines that may be used simultaneously. The system can effectively notify up four thousand people in a one hour period. Due to this the ENS may not be appropriate for all situations but will allow the City of Llano to contact citizens when advanced warning can be provided. The Message delivered to citizens may include incident specific information, responsive suggestions and warnings about situations vital to our citizens. The database or list of recipients was built off of the current contacts within the utility department billing system and returned ENS Forms. To ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the ENS system it is imperative that the system have current up to date phone information for every person in the coverage area. The Emergency Notification System Form was mailed out with utility bills and is also available online at http://www.cityofllano.com/CITY/ens.pdf.
